Amidst mounting global imperatives for sustainable agriculture and China's 'dual carbon' goals, this study investigates how internet access promotes farmers' adoption of green production practices, specifically defined as reducing chemical inputs through decreased fertiliser and pesticide application, using panel data from the Rural Observation Point in Henan Province (2009–2022). The findings reveal that internet access exerts a significant positive impact on farmers' green production behaviours, specifically reducing fertiliser and pesticide expenditures by 13.3% and 16.3%, respectively. Internet access enhances information accessibility, improves...
Measuring the efficiency of agropastoral systems in Inner Mongolia: Parallel bounded adjusted measure with shared inputs and outputsOriginal Paper

Inner Mongolia operates using integrated agropastoral systems comprising crop and livestock production subsystems. To evaluate the efficiency of these interconnected subsystems, we develop an innovative parallel-bounded adjusted measure (BAM) model with shared inputs and outputs. Unlike conventional data envelopment analysis (DEA) models, this approach explicitly accounts for parallel structures with shared inputs and outputs, allowing for a more precise and nuanced assessment of efficiency. Our results are as follows: (i) regional efficiency disparities: Hohhot City, Ordos City, and Wuhai City are efficient, whereas Ulanqab City performs the...
Agricultural commodity markets during the COVID-19 pandemic and the energy crisis: A time-varying copula approachOriginal Paper

Agric. Econ. - Czech, 2026, 72(9):559-570 | DOI: 10.17221/319/2025-AGRICECON
Agricultural commodity markets are highly important not only for investors but also for consumers. Given their importance, closer attention should be paid to agricultural commodity prices and their interactions with other segments of the financial market. In this paper, we apply time-varying copula analysis to investigate the development of the dependence structure between three main groups of agricultural commodities (Bloomberg Grains TR Index, Bloomberg Softs TR Index, and Bloomberg Livestock TR Index) and other segments of the financial market (Brent crude oil, the US Dollar Index, and the broader stock market represented by the S&P 500 stock...

The agri-food sector contributes to climate change but also has substantial mitigation potential. Agroecology is increasingly recognised as a viable pathway for transforming agri-food systems, but its success depends partly on understanding the factors influencing farmers' pro-environmental behaviour. This study aims to identify and classify these factors as barriers or drivers through a qualitative meta-analysis based on a structured systematic literature review of studies conducted in the European Union. The results indicated that personal knowledge and capabilities dominated the evidence. Particularly advanced age and income-related constraints...
