Sustainable development in regarded as the issue and method of solution of a number of global problems, which origined namely in relation to dynamic industrial development and the prominent growth of world population. Sustainable development is, above all, the concept closely related to human attitudes and values. The contribution presents the definition of sustainable development, its modern concept, sustainable development dimensions.
Economic aspects of rural areas sustainable development

The articles deals with problems of different development of rural areas and their factors. In usual analysis of rural development, the position of agriculture is interpreted in broad range of opinions from the neglectable role to its non-substitutability in rural economics. The article follows strong sides of these concepts at simultaneous reduction of their weaknesses and is focused on problems of investigation of the mutual influence of endogenous as well as exogenous industries on rural regions. Global consequences of sustainable development of agriculture

The principal importance and global dimension of sustainable agriculture in frame of a strategy of civilization development is beyond discussion. The actual character of the topic of looking for ways to sustainable development is confirmed by the extensive worldwide program "Millennium Ecosystem Assessment" the purpose of which is to map and subsequently monitor the health of the planet Earth. The contribution is focused on various aspects of the non-substitutable role of agriculture regarding sustainable development on the level of developing and developed countries and on the regional and global level.

Czech countryside and agriculture entered a new phase of development in May 2004. The transformation period after 1989 has changed the employment conditions of rural population as well as the conditions of economic subjects functioning in the rural space considerably. Fuzzy logic identifier of the short-term objectives

This article presents a new science-based approach which identifies the most effective current-period short-term objective of an enterprise, which is usually set based on the pure judgment of top management members or enterprise's experts. The method is based on fuzzy-decision-making system and makes robust utilization of enterprise's experts' knowledge, intuition and expertise. A simple illustrative example is provided to demonstrate how the method can be efficiently and effectively used in practice. FADERTIC - On-line support for rural development agents

The FADERTIC project - open on-line support for Rural Development Agents (RDA) based on the use of latest information and communication technologies (ICT) is a project in frame of the EU Leonardo da Vinci II program.
